Ravon really takes the time to teach you about your hair type and how to care for it. In my opinion, she’s basically the only one in the Kansas City area who truly focuses on the health of natural hair! I love her! If you’re not into wigs and constant braiding tension, definitely go see her!

I had the best experience with Ravon! She is so professional. She was so gentle with my thick hair. Her products were amazing. She is a true Natural stylists. She detangled from ends to roots. Something that most don't do. I am was truly impressed. My 1st visit of many to come. She is now my go-to.

I always look forward to my appointments with Ray! She truly cares about the health of my hair and takes the time to explain what my hair needs and why. I especially appreciate how patient and gentle she is during the detangling process—never rushed and always careful, which makes a huge difference. My hair has never looked or felt better, and I am thoroughly pleased with her product recommendations. I found Ravon on Instagram in 2023 and watched her for several months before I decided to try her. I am so happy with the condition of my hair. Not only did she help me understand the type of my hair but she also shared what products work best. After over 1.5 of getting my hair done each month, my hair is healthy, easy to style in between services and does not shed. I have tried numerous styles but my favorite is the mini twist and silk press.

I have been going to Ravon since she opened. She has kept my hair healthy and maintained my silk press. She is versatile in her styles and when I need a protective style (a rest from the heat) she does a great job with my weave. No wonder I followed her from her first salon to her owning her own salon!!! Friendly, timely and knowledgeable!

I am new to KCMO and found KurlCulture on Instagram. Ray was so welcoming and took her time to understand what was going on with my hair. She identified some thinning and documented it for future reference. During my service, she cut off all of my hair that suffered from heat damage and crafted solutions to restore it to a healthy state. I have been receiving so many compliments on my hair! Ray even provided recommendations on BBQ, churches, and shopping! I will definitely be back very soon!

I recently had my hair trimmed about a month ago and wanted it evened out because the way it looked was bothering me (maybe it's my OCD) 😣. So, I looked up hairstylists in KC who specialize in natural hair and stumbled upon Rayvon. Upon meeting her, she was very nice and respectful. She was very patient with me and trimmed my hair until I felt satisfied with the cut. I feel so relieved now and have her to thank for it. (Below are some before and after pictures)

I got my second ever silk press on Dec 17, with hopes it would last. Ra’von recommended I cut 3 inches for the health of my hair and to make the press last longer. I was a bit reluctant, but went for it. I loved the results of my silk press! I am amazed that today, Dec 27 is the first time seeing my curls again, because my silk press was still going strong 8 days later, which is a long time for me (I don’t apply heat often). Had it not been for the crazy fog on Christmas Day, I think it would still be silky and straight. As promised, I got so much more wear out of my silk press with a fresh cut. And I’m officially shocked! So much so that I had to call her and tell her. My hair detangled easy with minimal shedding on my first wash post-cut. My freshly layered curls look healthier than ever, and the round shape is so great that I don’t even miss the length. Ra’von was right once again, and the trim she gave me resulted in a fuller more effortless wash-n-go that I’m in love with. I’ll definitely be back in 3 months for a trim. She was spot on with everything else that she recommended, so I’m excited to see what 3 months of following her home care advice will do. If you are a picky natural like me looking for someone to trust with your hair, you won’t go wrong with Ra’Von.
